GANGSTARR/GURU,CAMP LO,& DIGABLE PLANETS,101:THE LORDS OF THE HIP-HOP JAZZ MOVEMENT!!!
Now It would seem to The Mass‘s…That Jazz & Hip-Hop are light-years apart right???Not alway's true!!!Because in this instance they come together in 3 major Group’s & 1 man that is DIGABLE PLANETS, CAMP LO,GANGSTARR & the man known as GURU..The King of Monotone. Now I’ve never written about GURU {even though I respect his message, style & his flow}or the HIP-HOP JAZZ MOVEMENT because WHAT IZ REAL HIP-HOP??? tend’s to adress the HARDER edge of HARDCORE MILITANT MIND-STATE IN REAL HIP-HOP, the more Current {So~Called RAP INDUSTRY}Or HIP-HOP that people listen to today and is “most relevant” to the NEW HIP-HOP RENAISSANCE & FUTURISTIC GOLDEN ERA!!! Not that The Legendary DIGABLE PLANETS,CAMP LO, & GANGSTARR/GURU are not “Asiatic” They are!!!Just a hellava lot smoother..& GURU has even invoked the very SPIRIT OF MALCOLM X in MANIFEST!!! But as my Reading Fan base grow’s & Follower’s on Twitter grow So does “the totality” of “taste” & me teaching the History of Afrocentric REAL HIP-HOP as a WHOLE that “MUST” be taught!!!
Mind you Ive had my Blog up for nearly 3 years and I have never written video Blog’s on KURTIS BLOW, RUN-DMC,THE FAT-BOYS,GRAND MASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS 5,JERU THE DAMAGA,PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH,WHODINI,UTFO,{ROXANNE YES}CAMP LO,DIGABLE PLANETS, & the List goes on & on.Why???Im Militant man!!!LMAO!! & I’m trying to build a FUTURISTIC MEASUREMENT SYSTEM in the more current SCIENTIFIC and or SERIOUS MILITANT MIND STATE of REAL HIP-HOP!!!Now all those groups I just named are all “LEGENDS” But my current blog list is “mostly” about The “CURRENT MILITANT MIND-STATE” in REAL HIP-HOP!!! Or M.C.‘s people “THINK” are real HIP-HOP when they are suspect. Cause it’s just Like Ghostface Killah said in “PASILY DARTS” the only GOD~BODY he has respect for IS RAKIM!!! & THE RZA,RAKIM,THE WU & CANIBUS are {in my personal opinion} the current “BAR’ or “Tier” of PURE HIP-HOP!!!.CAMP LO, DIGABLE PLANETS, & GANGSTARR/GURU…fall in the line of easy listening mellow jazzy knowledge spitting real Hip-Hop. Have I ignored them????..HELLZ NO!!! That is why I wrote about NATIVE TOUNGES & next will be about PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH,BRAND NUBIANS & ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!!!Im just trying to stay within the last 15 years or so for kids who don’t know in that age bracket & keep it relatively close ya See???
Now GANGSTARR/GURU didn’t start off JAZZY they started out MILITANT but as time when on the KING OF MONOTONE started to gravitate tword’s JAZZ. Now GANGSTARR consisted of MC Guru and DJ/producer DJ Premier.The group was founded in 1986 by Guru & various DJ’s…That’s 23 years ago.See??? But for kid’s & young adult’s alike who have no idea who GANGSTARR is it should be new!!!Now it wasn’t until 1989 that he would hook up with DJ Premier & form the foundation group now known as GANGSTARR.Now GURU stands for "Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal" & the best example of his MILITANT MINDSTATE would be “MANIFEST“& he is just that as the self proclaimed King of Monotone! CAMP LO came out in 1995-1997 consisting of Sonny Cheeba (Salahadeen Wilds) and Geechi Suede (Saladine Wallace). & CAMP Lo was So smooth it was like PURE SILK!!!Plus seemingly could do no wrong for a few years.But the most Jazzy & Eclectic of these 3 group’s… with perhaps the most coffee sipping, poetry in a dark,cigarette smoking, beret’ wearing, jazz club followers would be DIGABLE PLANETS!!!! Who came out prior to CAMP LO in 1994.Man 2 be out when DIGABLE came out was AMAZING!!! It was all love yall. DIGABLE was composed of Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler (from Seattle), Craig "Doodlebug" Irving (from Philadelphia), and Mary Ann "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira (from Washington, D.C.). Now Doodlebug is on Twitter so I hope he read’s this & understands that I’m paying homage the best way that I can to his Living Legendary status.” & that Im not posting as just a FAN Im an M.C. myself. & the bottom line is im trying to establish that the AFROCENTRIC/JAZZY/HIP-HOP ERA will live on in the hearts of it’s Fans forever!!!! So Lets bring back that Real Hip-Hop yall!!!Because This is REAL HIP-HOP in it’s purest form music & lyrics!!!!
