O.K. I saved DEMILOBO 4 last because she’s Not only “The Pop Princess of Chicago” WGCI Intern/Grind-a-holic/ ur music girlfriend#2 lol But also “The Drama Queen” YOA!!! Man I gotta say the first time I saw that Sexy Pink dress??? Glass’s & Unique style??? I flipped!!!! but when I visited her Myspace & heard her not only “SANG”{that’s rite not sing SANG!lol!} & actually hear her SPEAK??? Homegirl is articulate & INTELLIGENT YOA!!!PLUS SHES FINE!!! Now Demi Lobo cannot be summed up in just one short paragraph.Sorry. Demi is a young woman with many talents and drive to go along with it. At the age of only 5 Demi sang solos in the church choir in front of thousands of people with no fear. From the age of 5 til she was 16, she wrote stories and poems in her spare time and would read them to friends. At the age of 15, she won her first two spoken word contests. Then when she turned 16 she recorded her first song. It was then she knew that her passion for writing and singing wasn’t just a dream but a reality. Also Being the daughter of an Author proofreading and carrying down writing skills was a must. But she did not stop there Demi went on to compete in national competitions such as: Teen Miss America, Miss Black Eiu, Apollo to American Idol. Before she went to attend College in Charleston ,Illinois at Eastern Illinois University, she was doing regular paid gigs of Inspirational speaking to teenagers around Chicago, as well as singing at events and Weddings. Now I’ve never written about GURU {even though I respect his message, style & his flow}or the HIP-HOP JAZZ MOVEMENT because WHAT IZ REAL HIP-HOP??? tend’s to adress the HARDER edge of HARDCORE MILITANT MIND-STATE IN REAL HIP-HOP, the more Current {So~Called RAP INDUSTRY}Or HIP-HOP that people listen to today and is “most relevant” to the NEW HIP-HOP RENAISSANCE & FUTURISTIC GOLDEN ERA!!! Not that The Legendary DIGABLE PLANETS,CAMP LO, & GANGSTARR/GURU are not “Asiatic” They are!!!Just a hellava lot smoother..& GURU has even invoked the very SPIRIT OF MALCOLM X in MANIFEST!!! Now GANGSTARR/GURU didn’t start off JAZZY they started out MILITANT but as time when on the KING OF MONOTONE started to gravitate tword’s JAZZ. Now GANGSTARR consisted of MC Guru and DJ/producer DJ Premier.The group was founded in 1986 by Guru & various DJ’s…That’s 23 years ago.See??? But for kid’s & young adult’s alike who have no idea who GANGSTARR is it should be new!!!Now it wasn’t until 1989 that he would hook up with DJ Premier & form the foundation group now known as GANGSTARR.Now GURU stands for "Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal" & the best example of his MILITANT MINDSTATE would be “MANIFEST“& he is just that as the self proclaimed King of Monotone! CAMP LO came out in 1995-1997 consisting of Sonny Cheeba (Salahadeen Wilds) and Geechi Suede (Saladine Wallace). & CAMP Lo was So smooth it was like PURE SILK!!!Plus seemingly could do no wrong for a few years.But the most Jazzy & Eclectic of these 3 group’s… with perhaps the most coffee sipping, poetry in a dark,cigarette smoking, beret’ wearing, jazz club followers would be DIGABLE PLANETS!!!! Who came out prior to CAMP LO in 1994.Man 2 be out when DIGABLE came out was AMAZING!!! It was all love yall. DIGABLE was composed of Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler (from Seattle), Craig "Doodlebug" Irving (from Philadelphia), and Mary Ann "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira (from Washington, D.C.). Now Doodlebug is on Twitter so I hope he read’s this & understands that I’m paying homage the best way that I can to his Living Legendary status.” & that Im not posting as just a FAN Im an M.C. myself. & the bottom line is im trying to establish that the AFROCENTRIC/JAZZY/HIP-HOP ERA will live on in the hearts of it’s Fans forever!!!! Now… Native Tongues as a collective came out in full force in the late 1980’s & early 1990’s with a fusion of Jazz, Hip-Hop,House & a smooth Eclectic flare the likes of witch HIP-HOP had never seen Before!!!! In fact they influenced an entire generation after them with group’s such as CAMP LO, DIGGABLE PLANETS & even as resent as DYME~A~DUZIN. Now Jungle Brothers came out First then De la soul & then Tribe. The song "Scenario" was the final track on A Tribe Called Quest album The Low End Theory and featured Leaders of the New School—Dinco D, Busta Rhymes,& Charlie Brown! Launching Busta into the Mainstream. But In my personal Opinion at the time Tribe just took it yoa! Not because they were the most commercially successful but because the mix was just right!Busta would come into his own later & form FLIPMODE SQUAD!!! Now all 3 of these groups were “consciously together ” but moved separately. not so much as a whole much like Wu does now. Plus with the changes of the industry looming Tribe has broken up gotten back together broken up then back together again.Going back n forth Formulating what is commonly known in Real Hip-Hop as the “GROUP CURSE” Meaning: No GREAT HIP-HOP group can stay together for 2 long because 1 person shines 2 brightly henceforth & so on.But to describe these brothers as “Legends” would be an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! Now I could go into their complex history & who else they colabo’ed with like “Monie Love” which you will see in “buddy” below but It really was about enlightenment & fun in the Golden Era yall!!!& Everybody was just hammering at droppin knowledge!!!It wasn’t about Singular ego or pride.

Now…On the real “De La soul” has their own “DIE HARD” Fan base as well & have even done songs’ as resent with the Gorillaz Feel Good Inc. But when it’s all said n done… it is about survival of the fittest in this Game & Q-Tip would be the strongest out of the whole doing commercials for Budweiser, Video games and various House songs. But Tribe is said 2 be putting together a tour so that’s a good thing. I just would like 2 see another album YOA!! lol!!DIE HARD Wishful thinking.*sigh* Well I would like 2 get “technical” but Abstract was far from it!!!The abstract is just about being cool & smoooooooth!!! Now I know Tribe, De la & J.B.
