A Paradigm Shift is not simply the current theory, but the entire worldview in which it exists, and all of the implications which come with it.(look it up.)Now Any Real Emcee who has traveled the World especially to “THE UK” will tell you they get “mad respect” over there because the listeners are not conditioned by the imagery of Gangster's, Pimp's ,Thugs, “Drug Dealing Rhetoric” & “Media Propaganda”like over here in America. In fact while we enjoy the pleasures of our supposed freedom. The rest of the world Struggles in the balance of poverty, disease ,War, Famine, & Pestilence. Now As a Militant my duty is to free the mind’s of “My People” here in America. But that does not mean the rest of the world does not need saving. And… that does not mean “The Revolutionary Mind State” of “Real Hip-Hop” can not be applied to save other societies and other people. NOW lol I’m sorry I have to get so serious & technical with yall but 2 of these next 3 EMCEE’S have applied the revolutionary mind state of “Real Hip-Hop” to their struggles and in essence created a Paradigm shift away from just “American rapping” about DANCING,PIMPING,KILLING & DRUG DEALING Like some of “our” most popular COMMERCIAL RAPPERS!!! It’s sad really that the Kids here get it, People over seas get it, But Record companies, Street Ni*%az & the American Media JUST DON’T GET IT!!! ITS ALL ABOUT THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND!!!ALL FOR MONEY!! Now M.I.A. is actually Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam & is a very heavy political activist,photographer,film maker, artist & visionary. As well as a dope lyricist & fashion designer. In fact TIME magazine placed M.I.A in the Time 100 list of "World's Most Influential people" for having "global influence across many genres".{She would go later on 2 win Best female rapper of The Year at the BET AWARDS 7-28-09}Like I really care about BET but lol she won & she's heavier than most men!!!THE STREETS Michael Geoffery Skinner is another award winning British Lyricist who puts heavy life experience & political messages in his music. And last but not least is the young Lady Sovereign. While not as deep as these other 2… Home girl got a mad wicked sick ass flow!!! And got crazy metaphors, style & more substance than most commercial rappers here!!! HAHAHAH!!! What??? I guess yall think CALLOUS is just way to “serious” sometimes. lol!!! Well I can be. But that’s only because the stakes for change here in “The American Hoods” are so high in my “personal” opinion. Because people here are stuck in a vicious cycle of re-perpetuating self genocide. So I have to often break things down because a lot of people here don’t understand that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!! And there is more to life than just selling crack, staying strapped, pimping or shaking your ass on the dance floor!!! Sometimes your music has to actually have a message behind it!!! Now I’m not saying these 3 young dude’s are revolutionary {well maybe Poe a little} but they are ground breaking. Now my last blog post was on Charles Hamilton who is perhaps the most popular in this Rebirth of Swag. So I have to admit it is rather refreshing to say the least to see these young dudes catching up the slack of the old .Its’ like these new kid’s know how to sample & spit as good if not better than their adult counterparts.. While remaking and or sampling the most offset songs. Unfortunately though They all have been catching a little slack for it too. But F%ck it man!!!!Back in the day M.C.’s sampled James Brown like clockwork!!! Hell these kids are just bringing back the art of sampling!!!Besides The game is lame as Fu&k!!! And these young kids are just doing what comes natural and remaking some legendary stuff. Take DyMe-A-DuZiN for example he remade “Kool Like Dat” from Digable Planets. I mean would you rather he remake some gangster gully shoot um up bang bang sh&t???NOT ME!!!Let the kids have fun & sample some positive sh%t all day long!!! Wale is dope to. Only problem I have with him is the company he keeps {signed to Jay-Z’s new RocNation}. But his remake of Justice’s D.A.N.C.E. is amazing so I have 2 give him his props!!!Now Poe Picasso is the deepest & dopest of the 3 & not MTV at all. Both Wale & DyMe-A-DuZiN are MTV ready but Poe has the potential to be the next “Lupe Fiasco” in my opinion.Becausse when you listen to “You Gotta Love it” he even references Lupe who I’m sure he patterns himself after. Saying “DUMB IT DOWN” paying homage to his idol. Also showing that even though he is the least commercially successful he clearly has “The most potential”!!! Plus he’s just lyrically gifted and more mature than all of these 4 kids combined!!! Also it’s really hard to expect these new kid’s to understand “the struggle” when Life Online & inside Video games helps you escape into a mystical mellow Internet universe. But in my opinion keep an eye on Poe!!!This Kid is gonna do big things!!! His name is derived from Edgar Allen Poe & Picasso because he’s so visual.Alrite enjoy the Rebirth of Swag with these 3 hot new video’s Poes is only a still but the lyrics are really what matters in Real Hip-Hop!!!

Well what can I say about this clever young dude. Interesting kid. High strung… yet has a bright future ahead of him. Now first of all he’s the cousin of The Legendary M.C. Lyte so that’s a good start. He has a lot of heart and some intriguing things to say about Hip-Hop. I watched a couple of his Interviews & Battles. He kinda lost in his Battles… but he still keep’s coming…lol!!! Just like his favorite character Sonic the Hedgehog!!! Unfortunately just like Sonic and Sega sometimes you can run so fast you can’t see the obstacle’s in front of you before it’s too late. One of the major obstacle’s he has to overcome is he like’s to play the “Age Barrier” or “Generational Gap” mind game with you. It’s cool… I think he’s like what 21???How else would you think at such a young age???At least he did know who RAKIM was in one Interview.And he is M.C. Lytes cousin. But Real Hip-Hop is not a video game kid & when you put yourself in the same breath as Asher Roth {who has made some very Derogatory remarks as of late} and promote yourself with him & The White MTV generation you set yourself “outside” of Real Revolutionary and or Scientific Hip-Hop. But to be honest He’s not street or mainstream he kind of rides in between both worlds. Kind of like a modern day “Screaming” Q-Tip from a Tribe called Quest.I guess it work’s because he was raised around Hip-Hop royalty, yet strives to be different. His swag is different 2 he rocks a natural & lot’s of different color MONSTER BEATS BY DR DRE HEADPHONES. The Bottom line is... it takes a lot for me to authenticate an Emcee here on WHAT IZ REAL HIP-HOP??? Including writing about you and telling people about you.#1 because it has to stand the test of time & #2 Because even if you’re a “Flash in the Pan” or a major “Hip-Hop Rock Star” I won’t write about you unless you make a serious "positive" impact in Real Hip-Hop. Now Charles is just starting out & is only promoting one song “Brooklyn Girl”... so who knows he might be the next Lupe Fiasco as far as depth goes.But for now I will leave my opinion at a solid 7 out of 10.Because of his heart. Now I think Aretha Franklin said it best when she said it’s all about “Respect”. And because Hip-Hop is “basically” a “man’s game” it’s very,very rare for you to see women excel without using sex as a weapon. In addition I think it’s even rarer for them to have “true” skills, actually battle rap & drop knowledge. ENTER:LAUREN HILL,RAH DIGGA, & AMANDA DIVA. Now in my personal opinion Lauren Hill may be the greatest female lyricist of all time {Aside from Queen Latifah & M.C. Lyte} with her album “THE MIS-EDUCATION OF LAUREN HILL”. Rah is the most battle savvy, while Amanda is the most eclectic, beautiful & sincere. Now both Lauren Hill & Rah Digga have had great commercial success but just aren’t hot rite now due to family & or career shifting issues. But as anybody who knows real hip-hop will tell you “true legends” stand the test of time. Especially now as WACK as thing‘s are today & to be honest…I would rather listen to these female Emcees 2-3 YEARS AGO than half the “commercial dudes” doing thuged out, gangster, gangster, played out player & auto-tune crap that they play on the radio today. Now… even though Amanda Diva is the youngest of the three & fairly new to the game she represents real hip-hop to the fullest!!! She is basically a poet more than an M.C. though... She can sing too. And for you hip-hop un-savvy who have probably never heard of her… she’s down with Q-Tip from a Tribe called Quest. And she is one of the many,many,many,many reason’s I write this Blog to show the mass’s WHAT IZ REAL HIP-HOP…NOT COMMERCIAL RAP. And even though she’s young, she’s got a hell of a lot more spunk, heart , knowledge of self & respect for our culture than a lot of these much older ignorant dudes do!!! Now when I say respect.. I mean just that. Not a sister whoreing herself out to be the best. I won’t say names, but I will not include plastic surgery foul mouth slut’s in blog. These women got true skills represent female's proper & have respect for themselves. Lauren is a Revolutionary and helped start out the Super group “The Fugees”, Rah is an Emcee & actress that represented “Flipmode Squad” Plus she write‘s down her own rhymes {just like Lauren & Amanda} and I can’t consider you "real" if you don’t write down your own rhymes.SORRY.Now Unfortunately Rah left Flipmode in 2007.But she still held it down & can basically battle rap men.& Amanda Diva is just new, fresh and exciting!!!And even though there are many more heavy hitting modern day female Emcees that come to mind when I say “dope” like Missy Elliot, {Who I addressed in Hip-Hop Producers} Flowetry, Lin-Q,Chyna White “The Great” & Charlie Baltimore I think these 3 women represent the most “modern day” example’s of beautiful, respectful, intelligent, skillful, and or battle ready Female Emcees. I couldn't agree with you more JazItUp4U!!!Yes "The Pit Bull in a Skirt" is definitely in my "top 10" of greatest female emcee's of all time!!!She's like #6 after Lauren Hill,Rah Digga,Amanda Diva,Queen Latifa & M.C.Lyte..rite around their with Chyna Whyte, Charlie Baltimore & Lin-Q!!! Now the only thing bigger than “Hip-Hop” to a “Revolutionary” is…“The Revolution”. And in this day and age, there are very few group’s who embody the word “real” &“revolutionary” like Dead Prez. Dead Prez consist of Stic Man & M1.Their first album 2000’s “Let’s get free” was groundbreaking in every since of the word, with their smash hit “HIP-HOP” from the year before. Then they came back at us again with 2004’s “Revolutionary But Gangster”. Now In general Dead Prez lyric’s consist of there “true to life” confrontational “Revolutionary style” combined with “socialist” & “Pan African” lyrics. Kinda like a mix between N.W.A & Public Enemy. They talk about the police, the system, the street’s, fake thug m.c.’s… EVERYTHING. Now Ya boy Cali really admires Dead Prez because they hit it big right before “911” in 2000 but still stayed revolutionary in 2004 when it wasn’t in style to be “Revolutionary” and everyone was “overtly patriotic“. The bottom line Ladies & Gentlemen the only thing bigger than Hip-Hop in Hip-Hop is…The Revolution. Now I could go on for day’s about how dope these guy’s are but I don’t have to.There song “HIP-HOP” defines what Real Hip-Hop is and sounds like. And I just thought I would take a little “time out” of my daily routine/grind to explain my intention’s for both of my blog’s & my ascension as an M.C. up in the game. Now let me make one thing perfectly clear… REAL HIP-HOP IZ NOT RAP. Now to those of you who don’t know the difference let me explain. RAP & RAPPER’S are the majority of what you listen to on the radio. A Rapper simply talk’s about his surrounding’s, and generally freestyle’s his life experience’s and such. A Lyricist/Poet/ EMCEE or M.C. {witch mean’s microphone controller or move the crowd} Spawn from The Modern Day God Father of Hip-Hop: RAKIM. {see my previous blog post on 1-30-08}REAL M.C.’S talk about the issue’s of the world, and actually “write” down his or her own rhyme’s, use’s strategy and actually “think” about what he or she has to say before they say it because it’s very important that their rhymes are razor sharp with their ideal’s. Most REAL M.C.’s are also either Militant, 5%er’s,or Hard n Heavy Scientific flame thrower’s or Lyrical Spitters}. An M.C. can call himself a RAPPER but a RAPPER can not call himself an M.C. Because RAPPER’S are “usually” shallow and only talk about their own material wealth, Ice {diamond’s}, women. clothes, cars, rim’s and do not have any intention’s on “Dropping knowledge” or “Science” on the mass’s. They just want to get paid. I call myself a Rapper to the general populace because that is the most commonly used term. If I walked up to you and called myself a Emcee, M.C., lyricist, Poet, or Lyrical Scientist you would be confused at my profession. Now Why do most Rapper‘s simply just rap??? Because most people now-a-day’s are offended by the very idea of change or being taught something different out of their daily routine. They simply dismiss you as a “Player Hater“ or “whatever” and let them be as ignorant as they want to be even if what they are doing to themselves and others is self destructive. See the contingency now-a-day’s is that Most people listen to music to sooth their nerves & be given solace & absolution. My intention’s are very clear. My intention’s are to bring about a “New Futuristic Golden Era” and “Real” modern day “Hip-Hop Renaissance” in the now basically dead Industry. My Plan’s start here on the Internet with both of my blog’s opening up a dialog on not only “My opinion” but “Our opinion” on the now tired Industry. Truly a Diabolical Duo, Ruck n Roc were perhaps 2 of the most devastating lyricist to ever touch the mic in the late 90‘s. Personally I like the “Rockness Monster” the best because he was the Darker, Grimier side of the pair, but that’s because I like it grimy. Now If you have never heard of Heltah Skeltah then you're in for a treat. They were initially part of a larger affiliate group called “Boot Camp Clik” comprised of Heltah Skeltah, BuckShot, Smif-n-Wesson, & O.G.C., All of who I discussed in detail in my previous blog‘s. But Ruck n Roc were truly the star’s that shined the brightest in the camp.Why?Because Both their lyric’s and style were engulfed in grimy darkness so they were not for everybody’s taste.But that is what made them actually stand out. Now they were “Gun Slingers” but not “Gangster’s” because they came from New York. and they spoke in a more defensive stance.Like don’t F%!k with us!!LOL!! Their first monster hit was "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka" as the Fab 5 with O.G.C. Now Unfortunately They would only release 2 album’s. Nocturnal &Magnum Force. And much like Killarmy the two broke up.( due to Roc’s label dispute’s with Duck Down record’s). Sad 2... because they were one of the hottest underground group’s of the late 90’s.let’s hope that their reunion CD called D.I.R.T.{wich was set for release on September 2008} will knock down door’s because Hip-Hop need’s there versatility now more than ever.Now even though they were “Gun Slinger’s” they didn’t talk about selling drugs to the insanity that they do today. They were just grimy ya now??? Now I know now-a day’s it’s all about “Swag” but Heltah Skeltah come from the school of grimy group’s like DAS EFX & NAUGHTY BY NATURE.And being “GRIMY” trump’s “SWAG” {in my personal opinion} Well here is there monster hit that put them on the map "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka" & “I aint havent that ft Redman” WHY???BECAUSE I KEEP IT CALLOUS!!! In this day and age of watered down, Iced out, commercial Nonsense!!!Keep it grimy yall!!!
