Now I’ve never written about GURU {even though I respect his message, style & his flow}or the HIP-HOP JAZZ MOVEMENT because WHAT IZ REAL HIP-HOP??? tend’s to adress the HARDER edge of HARDCORE MILITANT MIND-STATE IN REAL HIP-HOP, the more Current {So~Called RAP INDUSTRY}Or HIP-HOP that people listen to today and is “most relevant” to the NEW HIP-HOP RENAISSANCE & FUTURISTIC GOLDEN ERA!!! CAMP LO came out in 1995-1997 consisting of Sonny Cheeba (Salahadeen Wilds) and Geechi Suede (Saladine Wallace). & CAMP Lo was So smooth it was like PURE SILK!!!Plus seemingly could do no wrong for a few years.But the most Jazzy & Eclectic of these 3 group’s… with perhaps the most coffee sipping, poetry in a dark,cigarette smoking, beret’ wearing, jazz club followers would be DIGABLE PLANETS!!!! Who came out prior to CAMP LO in 1994.Man 2 be out when DIGABLE came out was AMAZING!!! It was all love yall. Now… Native Tongues as a collective came out in full force in the late 1980’s & early 1990’s with a fusion of Jazz, Hip-Hop,House & a smooth Eclectic flare the likes of witch HIP-HOP had never seen Before!!!! In fact they influenced an entire generation after them with group’s such as CAMP LO, DIGGABLE PLANETS & even as resent as DYME~A~DUZIN. Now Jungle Brothers came out First then De la soul & then Tribe. The song "Scenario" was the final track on A Tribe Called Quest album The Low End Theory and featured Leaders of the New School—Dinco D, Busta Rhymes,& Charlie Brown! Launching Busta into the Mainstream. But In my personal Opinion at the time Tribe just took it yoa! Not because they were the most commercially successful but because the mix was just right!Busta would come into his own later & form FLIPMODE SQUAD!!! Now all 3 of these groups were “consciously together ” but moved separately. not so much as a whole much like Wu does now. Plus with the changes of the industry looming Tribe has broken up gotten back together broken up then back together again.Going back n forth Formulating what is commonly known in Real Hip-Hop as the “GROUP CURSE” Meaning: No GREAT HIP-HOP group can stay together for 2 long because 1 person shines 2 brightly henceforth & so on.But to describe these brothers as “Legends” would be an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! Now I could go into their complex history & who else they colabo’ed with like “Monie Love” which you will see in “buddy” below but It really was about enlightenment & fun in the Golden Era yall!!!& Everybody was just hammering at droppin knowledge!!!It wasn’t about Singular ego or pride.

Now…On the real “De La soul” has their own “DIE HARD” Fan base as well & have even done songs’ as resent with the Gorillaz Feel Good Inc. Yoa what’s up Yall this is CALLOUS with a commemorative Blog of sort’s… with the passing of Slum Village Detroit Rapper/Emcce Baatin Dead at 35.R.I.P.Now Ya Boy Cali give’s his condolences to all the Family & Fans of one of the “True Legends” of REAL DETROIT HIP-HOP with “knowledge of self“. And If you have never heard of Slum Village or them being from my hometown of Detroit, that’s probably because they didn’t rap like it. They lead the 2002 Heart ~n~Soul Hip-Hop movement in The “D”. And unlike MOST Detroit Rappers who Rap Gangster & get killed over Drug Deals gone wrong, Baatin had heath issues. The results are still unclear.But Police say there is no dealing’s of foul play. toxicology results will take a couple of weeks. The Bottom line is that It’s Deaths of Righteous brothers “like this” that Keep me going on and continue to drop knowledge. For you never know where your going to get your last glass of water from or how long you have to teach the mass’s on this Planet. Plus any body who knew Slum Village knows they where about Peace, Unity, Love, Respect & Black Hip-Hop Harmony. Now I didn’t know them “personally” but their reputation and skillz in the REAL HIP-HOP community of Detroit attained them more “respect” than “Slim Shady”110%!!! For various reasons I cannot get into on this blog. Ok..now Slum Village first major hit was 2002 “Tainted” off the CD Trinity (Past, Present and Future) and if you listen to Real Hip-Hop you “will” remember the song, but you may have forgotten who made “it” because “Slum Village” was often confused with A Tribe Called quest or even more so the super mega group “THE ROOTS”. Now don’t get it twisted they did have a very unique style of their own,plus more than 1 Rapper. like The Roots. & when Battle tested They could go HARD!!! Slum Village was formed by three members: rappers Baatin and T3, plus rapper and producer Jay Dee. Jay Dee left in 2002 to pursue a solo career with MCA Records and was replaced by Elzhi, after which Baatin also left due to health complications. Baatin was due 2 make his triumphant return to the group this year, then unfortunately he just passed away. Seriously ya’ll unlike “SOME” Detroit Rappers who lead a Self~ Destructive lifestyle Baatin will truly be missed. And on a personal note….As a Detroit Rapper/Emcce myself I think People tend to get things confused that Detroit is a second NO third Tier REAL-HIP-HOP “community” because of some scrupulous unsavory “characters” or racist “Individual’s” not true. Because it’s group’s like Slum Village & my man Royce Da 5”9 who show true skills without going “Koo Koo Clock” Brain Dead Gangster on you!!! Ok even though GRAVE DIGGAZ are no longer “Together” Their Horrorcore Darkness & Depth is still virtually unmatched in Real Hip-Hop.They called Themselves GRAVE DIGGAZ because they dug up the mentally dead. Now Unfortunately “Too Poetic” one of the original members of GRAVE DIGGAZ Died of Colon Cancer in 2001 So who knows if The RZA will ever RZA~RECT the remaining crew!!! But at its peek GRAVE DIGGAZ consisted of The Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA (The Rzarector).Prince Paul (The Undertaker), Frukwan (The Gatekeeper), & Too Poetic (The Grym Reaper)!!! The group is widely credited as being one of the most influential and pioneering groups in the small hip-hop subgenre of horrorcore with their Golden classic 1994’s “6 Feet Deep.” Now As much as RZA has on his plate now trying to promote “CHAMBER MUSIC” “DIGISNACKS” & all of the other various WU CD’s ,GRAVE DIGGAZ would perhaps be the last thing on his mind. Now aside from all of their platinum albums, Andre 3000 is truly a deep thinking quick spitting cosmic level lyricist & also a great actor!!! Hell… both him and Big Boi are both great actors and truly know how 2 keep their fans… very happy!!! Now they might be players, but truthfully OUTKAST is so much much much more!!! They also have 2 solo album’s on the way and a sequel to Idelwild so the fans will have to wait until around 2010 for a real OUTKAST CD. Now as I said this blog could go on for days because every album was groundbreaking from ATLiens, Aquemini, Stankonia, & Speakerboxxx/The Love Below !!!Also the rumors of their break up will go on forever until the end of time. So I have to admit it is rather refreshing to say the least to see these young dudes catching up the slack of the old .Its’ like these new kid’s know how to sample & spit as good if not better than their adult counterparts.. While remaking and or sampling the most offset songs. Unfortunately though They all have been catching a little slack for it too. But F%ck it man!!!!Back in the day M.C.’s sampled James Brown like clockwork!!! Hell these kids are just bringing back the art of sampling!!!Besides The game is lame as Fu&k!!! And these young kids are just doing what comes natural and remaking some legendary stuff. Take DyMe-A-DuZiN for example he remade “Kool Like Dat” from Digable Planets. I mean would you rather he remake some gangster gully shoot um up bang bang sh&t???NOT ME!!!Let the kids have fun & sample some positive sh%t all day long!!! Wale is dope to. Only problem I have with him is the company he keeps {signed to Jay-Z’s new RocNation}. But his remake of Justice’s D.A.N.C.E. is amazing so I have 2 give him his props!!!Now Poe Picasso is the deepest & dopest of the 3 & not MTV at all. Both Wale & DyMe-A-DuZiN are MTV ready but Poe has the potential to be the next “Lupe Fiasco” in my opinion.Becausse when you listen to “You Gotta Love it” he even references Lupe who I’m sure he patterns himself after. Saying “DUMB IT DOWN” paying homage to his idol. Also showing that even though he is the least commercially successful he clearly has “The most potential”!!! Plus he’s just lyrically gifted and more mature than all of these 4 kids combined!!! Also it’s really hard to expect these new kid’s to understand “the struggle” when Life Online & inside Video games helps you escape into a mystical mellow Internet universe. But in my opinion keep an eye on Poe!!!This Kid is gonna do big things!!! Well what can I say about this clever young dude. Interesting kid. High strung… yet has a bright future ahead of him. Now first of all he’s the cousin of The Legendary M.C. Lyte so that’s a good start. He has a lot of heart and some intriguing things to say about Hip-Hop. I watched a couple of his Interviews & Battles. He kinda lost in his Battles… but he still keep’s coming…lol!!! Just like his favorite character Sonic the Hedgehog!!! Unfortunately just like Sonic and Sega sometimes you can run so fast you can’t see the obstacle’s in front of you before it’s too late. One of the major obstacle’s he has to overcome is he like’s to play the “Age Barrier” or “Generational Gap” mind game with you. It’s cool… I think he’s like what 21???How else would you think at such a young age???At least he did know who RAKIM was in one Interview.And he is M.C. Lytes cousin. But Real Hip-Hop is not a video game kid & when you put yourself in the same breath as Asher Roth {who has made some very Derogatory remarks as of late} and promote yourself with him & The White MTV generation you set yourself “outside” of Real Revolutionary and or Scientific Hip-Hop. But to be honest He’s not street or mainstream he kind of rides in between both worlds. Kind of like a modern day “Screaming” Q-Tip from a Tribe called Quest.I guess it work’s because he was raised around Hip-Hop royalty, yet strives to be different. His swag is different 2 he rocks a natural & lot’s of different color MONSTER BEATS BY DR DRE HEADPHONES. The Bottom line is... it takes a lot for me to authenticate an Emcee here on WHAT IZ REAL HIP-HOP??? Including writing about you and telling people about you.#1 because it has to stand the test of time & #2 Because even if you’re a “Flash in the Pan” or a major “Hip-Hop Rock Star” I won’t write about you unless you make a serious "positive" impact in Real Hip-Hop. Now Charles is just starting out & is only promoting one song “Brooklyn Girl”... so who knows he might be the next Lupe Fiasco as far as depth goes.But for now I will leave my opinion at a solid 7 out of 10.Because of his heart. Now I think Aretha Franklin said it best when she said it’s all about “Respect”. And because Hip-Hop is “basically” a “man’s game” it’s very,very rare for you to see women excel without using sex as a weapon. In addition I think it’s even rarer for them to have “true” skills, actually battle rap & drop knowledge. ENTER:LAUREN HILL,RAH DIGGA, & AMANDA DIVA. Now in my personal opinion Lauren Hill may be the greatest female lyricist of all time {Aside from Queen Latifah & M.C. Lyte} with her album “THE MIS-EDUCATION OF LAUREN HILL”. Rah is the most battle savvy, while Amanda is the most eclectic, beautiful & sincere. Now both Lauren Hill & Rah Digga have had great commercial success but just aren’t hot rite now due to family & or career shifting issues. But as anybody who knows real hip-hop will tell you “true legends” stand the test of time. Especially now as WACK as thing‘s are today & to be honest…I would rather listen to these female Emcees 2-3 YEARS AGO than half the “commercial dudes” doing thuged out, gangster, gangster, played out player & auto-tune crap that they play on the radio today. Now… even though Amanda Diva is the youngest of the three & fairly new to the game she represents real hip-hop to the fullest!!! She is basically a poet more than an M.C. though... She can sing too. And for you hip-hop un-savvy who have probably never heard of her… she’s down with Q-Tip from a Tribe called Quest. And she is one of the many,many,many,many reason’s I write this Blog to show the mass’s WHAT IZ REAL HIP-HOP…NOT COMMERCIAL RAP. And even though she’s young, she’s got a hell of a lot more spunk, heart , knowledge of self & respect for our culture than a lot of these much older ignorant dudes do!!! Now when I say respect.. I mean just that. Not a sister whoreing herself out to be the best. I won’t say names, but I will not include plastic surgery foul mouth slut’s in blog. These women got true skills represent female's proper & have respect for themselves. Lauren is a Revolutionary and helped start out the Super group “The Fugees”, Rah is an Emcee & actress that represented “Flipmode Squad” Plus she write‘s down her own rhymes {just like Lauren & Amanda} and I can’t consider you "real" if you don’t write down your own rhymes.SORRY.Now Unfortunately Rah left Flipmode in 2007.But she still held it down & can basically battle rap men.& Amanda Diva is just new, fresh and exciting!!!And even though there are many more heavy hitting modern day female Emcees that come to mind when I say “dope” like Missy Elliot, {Who I addressed in Hip-Hop Producers} Flowetry, Lin-Q,Chyna White “The Great” & Charlie Baltimore I think these 3 women represent the most “modern day” example’s of beautiful, respectful, intelligent, skillful, and or battle ready Female Emcees. Now the only thing bigger than “Hip-Hop” to a “Revolutionary” is…“The Revolution”. And in this day and age, there are very few group’s who embody the word “real” &“revolutionary” like Dead Prez. Dead Prez consist of Stic Man & M1.Their first album 2000’s “Let’s get free” was groundbreaking in every since of the word, with their smash hit “HIP-HOP” from the year before. Then they came back at us again with 2004’s “Revolutionary But Gangster”. Now In general Dead Prez lyric’s consist of there “true to life” confrontational “Revolutionary style” combined with “socialist” & “Pan African” lyrics. Kinda like a mix between N.W.A & Public Enemy. They talk about the police, the system, the street’s, fake thug m.c.’s… EVERYTHING. Now Ya boy Cali really admires Dead Prez because they hit it big right before “911” in 2000 but still stayed revolutionary in 2004 when it wasn’t in style to be “Revolutionary” and everyone was “overtly patriotic“. The bottom line Ladies & Gentlemen the only thing bigger than Hip-Hop in Hip-Hop is…The Revolution. And I just thought I would take a little “time out” of my daily routine/grind to explain my intention’s for both of my blog’s & my ascension as an M.C. up in the game. Now let me make one thing perfectly clear… REAL HIP-HOP IZ NOT RAP. Now to those of you who don’t know the difference let me explain. RAP & RAPPER’S are the majority of what you listen to on the radio. A Rapper simply talk’s about his surrounding’s, and generally freestyle’s his life experience’s and such. A Lyricist/Poet/ EMCEE or M.C. {witch mean’s microphone controller or move the crowd} Spawn from The Modern Day God Father of Hip-Hop: RAKIM. {see my previous blog post on 1-30-08}REAL M.C.’S talk about the issue’s of the world, and actually “write” down his or her own rhyme’s, use’s strategy and actually “think” about what he or she has to say before they say it because it’s very important that their rhymes are razor sharp with their ideal’s. Most REAL M.C.’s are also either Militant, 5%er’s,or Hard n Heavy Scientific flame thrower’s or Lyrical Spitters}. An M.C. can call himself a RAPPER but a RAPPER can not call himself an M.C. Because RAPPER’S are “usually” shallow and only talk about their own material wealth, Ice {diamond’s}, women. clothes, cars, rim’s and do not have any intention’s on “Dropping knowledge” or “Science” on the mass’s. They just want to get paid. I call myself a Rapper to the general populace because that is the most commonly used term. If I walked up to you and called myself a Emcee, M.C., lyricist, Poet, or Lyrical Scientist you would be confused at my profession. Now Why do most Rapper‘s simply just rap??? Because most people now-a-day’s are offended by the very idea of change or being taught something different out of their daily routine. They simply dismiss you as a “Player Hater“ or “whatever” and let them be as ignorant as they want to be even if what they are doing to themselves and others is self destructive. See the contingency now-a-day’s is that Most people listen to music to sooth their nerves & be given solace & absolution. My intention’s are very clear. My intention’s are to bring about a “New Futuristic Golden Era” and “Real” modern day “Hip-Hop Renaissance” in the now basically dead Industry. My Plan’s start here on the Internet with both of my blog’s opening up a dialog on not only “My opinion” but “Our opinion” on the now tired Industry. Truly a Diabolical Duo, Ruck n Roc were perhaps 2 of the most devastating lyricist to ever touch the mic in the late 90‘s. Personally I like the “Rockness Monster” the best because he was the Darker, Grimier side of the pair, but that’s because I like it grimy. Now If you have never heard of Heltah Skeltah then you're in for a treat. They were initially part of a larger affiliate group called “Boot Camp Clik” comprised of Heltah Skeltah, BuckShot, Smif-n-Wesson, & O.G.C., All of who I discussed in detail in my previous blog‘s. But Ruck n Roc were truly the star’s that shined the brightest in the camp.Why?Because Both their lyric’s and style were engulfed in grimy darkness so they were not for everybody’s taste.But that is what made them actually stand out. Now they were “Gun Slingers” but not “Gangster’s” because they came from New York. and they spoke in a more defensive stance.Like don’t F%!k with us!!LOL!! Their first monster hit was "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka" as the Fab 5 with O.G.C. Now Unfortunately They would only release 2 album’s. Nocturnal &Magnum Force. And much like Killarmy the two broke up.( due to Roc’s label dispute’s with Duck Down record’s). Sad 2... because they were one of the hottest underground group’s of the late 90’s.let’s hope that their reunion CD called D.I.R.T.{wich was set for release on September 2008} will knock down door’s because Hip-Hop need’s there versatility now more than ever.Now even though they were “Gun Slinger’s” they didn’t talk about selling drugs to the insanity that they do today. They were just grimy ya now??? Now I know now-a day’s it’s all about “Swag” but Heltah Skeltah come from the school of grimy group’s like DAS EFX & NAUGHTY BY NATURE.And being “GRIMY” trump’s “SWAG” {in my personal opinion} Well here is there monster hit that put them on the map "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka" & “I aint havent that ft Redman” WHY???BECAUSE I KEEP IT CALLOUS!!! Plus unlike Canibus: the Scientific Champ he is a Die Hard Revolutionary. {MUCH LIKE CALLOUS IZ} Funny story… I was on the air plane one day on my way to Detroit from Miami and a girl I was kicking it with told me “my flow” & “my message’s” sounded like Immortal Technique. I was like O.K. nobody kick’s knowledge like me. Then she let me hear him because I had never heard him before. And sure enough our flow’s & messages were similar!!! I cracked up !!!lol!!! Because my flow {to me} is inconceivable. So is his. Felipe Coronel is as I said not only a scientific rapper but a political activist. Most of his lyrics focus on political issues. The views expressed in his lyrics are largely a mixture of commentary on issues such as politics, poverty, religion, social class and racism.One of His deepest song’s to date that was his jump off is called “Dance with the Devil” a truly deep rhyme. In essence I put him roughly on the same level as Black Thought from the Root’s, Nas, Common, Mos-Def & Talib Kweli but it lean’s more tword’s Jedi Mind Tricks. Like Uncommon Valor (A Vietnam Story) about a soldier confused about killing innocent‘s in Vietnam. Their flow is very complex and they concentrate on flipped out metaphor’s when talking about killing. Their Gangster but not like 50.It’s more in defense not offense. They have also worked with Immortal Technique and some of the best in the Industry like GZA from the Wu.They have a loyal underground fan base and know how to move the crowd. Like when I say Jedi mind!!! you say trick’s!!! Jedi mind. Tricks!! Jedi mind!!! tricks see???Iz it real hip hop???Borderline.The fact that they're white and use the word ni@@er is a big problem for the Futuristic Militant.But they flow so black I didn't know that they were white or arabic until I started researching them. Perhaps the most successful of the Wu Affiliates Killarmy consisted of 9th Prince(RZA’s younger brother), IsLord, Dom Pachino, Killa Sin, 4th Disciple, Beretta 9 & ShoGun Assasson. Now unlike most of the Wu who chose the “Asian Theme” Killarmy chose to be strait Militant. Now the best spitter in the crew to me was 9th Prince in my opinion. But he is RZA’s little brother so what would you expect??? Next is Beretta 9,then ShoGun Assasson, Killa Sin,4th Disciple, Dom Pachino then Islord. Now unfortunately like many dope group’s in the Industry Killarmy broke up in 2002. So it is my obligation “as such” to preserve our culture BY ANY MEANS NESSARY!!! This blog is not a Tabloid. It is an introspective observation and analysis on the Hip-Hop culture, the music, and the industry past, present & future from a Militant Hip-Hop purest perspective. In this blog I only Include fellow M.C.’s I respect enough to write about and who have momentum & influence enough to bring about “real change” In the Industry. Can they? Will they? Who knows? Why? Because the more popular “Commercial Rapper’s” Are about making their pocket’s fat while giving solace and absolution to the confused. Real Hip-Hop is not about that. Real Hip-Hop “at it’s peek” was “Revolutionary Music” that bucked the system and educated black people on “The Real World” who were not living up to their “full potential“. Callous doesn’t care if you’re “flat broke” or if you “got million’s”. Because if your keeping my people down I will show you “no quarter“. Now what can I say about this brother…T.I:THE RUBBERBAND MAN??? Well first of all He is the self proclaimed “King of the South” And On a positive note he is very talented. He’s a great rapper, actor, sharp dresser, and right under Jigga, Lil Wayne & Kanye in popularity. But on the Negative end he has troubles with the law and talk’s a lot of Drug rhetoric that ya boy Cali doesn’t really feel. Now T.I. is successful because he believes what he say’s and doesn’t care what people’s opinion’s are for the most part. He’s a good battle rapper to be from the South and insist that you keep his name out ya mouth lol!! He’s a no nonsense talker and you really can’t classify him as a simple street thug. He’s a Grammy award winner, has had 9 Top 10 Billboard hot 100 single’s. And much like Ludacris he’s also a great actor. I think he did a dope job in ATL with fine “azz” Lauren London and the movie did gross $11.5 million, ranking third in the United States box office, and went on to gross $21.2 million Now all these accolade’s aside ya boy Cali is not Impressed with such materialistic thing’s.(at all) But I do have to be fair and List some of his commercial accomplishment’s. Now I could be extremely negative about his Drug Dealing rhetoric because CALLOUS is the Futuristic Militant and 100% against all of it. But in all fairness he’s no where near as crazy as where Jay-Z take’s it!!! And being charged with Federal Gun Charges is “proof positive” that you just can’t do whatever you want to do. Is he Real Hip-Hop??? In my opinion He’s a great commercial Rapper. But much like many of these guy’s who motivate these Drug Dealer’s I can’t 100% support them. Real Hip- Hop in general is just the opposite for the most part. Now the Only 2 song’s ya boy Cali feel’s are “You Don’t know me” and “You know what it is” I tried listening to his CD’s and watching his video’s but as A Revolutionary I don’t particularly agree with a lot of what he spit’s. Now as stated in my last blog these brother’s may not be that “deep” but they are 3 of the Top commercially successful rapper’s in the game today with even a hint of “real” hip-hop skillz. I’m addressing T.I. in my next blog who is perhaps more successful than all 3 but I want to put some space between him and Wheezy. Now Luda is more of a Vet but he’s not old school either…not by a long shot!!! He’s somewhere in between. Luda is perhaps the best battle rapper of the 3.While Lupe is the Deepest for someone so young. Fabulous has the most Swagger and is often imitated. Even “The Game” took a couple of pages from this youngsters flow and he’s older. Now rumor has it Lupe is said to only be making 3 albums. And judging from his track “Dumb it Down” he has the intelligence level to pursue other ventures. Now I’m not going to right a lot about these guy’s because my most important blog right now is about Lil Wayne for people who have no scope or measurement of “What Real Hip Hop iz” so I would rather keep this one short and sweet. Now… no disrespect to Luda because he has been at it so long but Hip-Hop is about “heat” right now and Luda himself is putting Wheezy on his track’s showing that even though he’s been at it longer Wheezy is simply hotter right now. But you know to be honest Luda is so amazingly multi-talented it really doesn’t matter “because he can act” so rapping is not his only venue. Luda was also a DJ when he first started out in the Music Industry so my guess is he might get into producing later down the line and open the door‘s for younger cat‘s. Oh and Luda also has a dope Non- Profit organization to help kid’s read called “The Ludacris Foundation” So Oprah can eat his dust!!!lol!!!! First let me say 3 word‘s…Smart,Clever and Funny!!! The Self proclaimed “Best Rapper Alive” is none other than “Lil Wayne” a.k.a. “Weezy Baby“. Now as of today 4-16-09 Weezy is the hottest commercial “Rapper” in the game besides Jigga.Even though his humble beginning's may have been under the amazing production of Manny Fresh,Bird Man,Cash Money Millionaires,and as one of the original member's of the Hot-Boy's... Lil Wayne has far surpassed his former colleges. Now working with multiple Industry producer's like Swiss Beats. Now a Lot of people ask me “my opinion” about “The Martian” lol and all I can do is laugh.His voice alone trip’s me out man!!!lol!!! But Unfortunately Ya boy Cali is not caught up in the hype like most people. It’s not that he’s not dope… he is. It’s just when I measure him up with the like’s of The RZA, The Wu, and CANIBUS he fall’s a little short.Now I'm not talking about “commercial rap” I’m talking about “REAL HIP-HOP” No disrespect... he has rightfully earned his position in the game and I personally put him "over" the Jigga-man but that’s not the consensus of The Rap Game rite now. But I put him in the same league as Ludacris, Lupe’ Fiasco, and Fabulous so forth and so on. These Rapper’s have commercial success but are not lyrical, mathematical, scientific, Deep, ILL Thinker's.

See most of these "commercial rapper's" are young so they all “got heat” but just cause you “got heat” doesn’t make “YOU DEEP” LOL!!! Man I hate busting peoples bubbles like this but “REAL HIP-HOP” is a Revolutionary “thinking man’s” game and Weezy Think’s “Back n Forth” like How did diddy do it? how did I do it ?hahahahaha!!! You can’t help but laugh cause it's clever as hell !!!lol!! But it’s just not deep. Now another thing that bother’s me is him saying “I AM HIP-HOP” when he’s really more of a “commercial rapper” Sorry folk’s but as a Revolutionary I gotta keep it real Weezy has yet to “Drop knowledge” even as quiet as Common, Mos def, Talib Kweli, or even Kanye. It’s all Commercial flash, smoke, and street mirrors.I'm not Dissin ya boy but like any good magician there "skill" is to "mystify" and “trick” the audience into believing there Slicing a woman in Half lol!!! People usually flock to ”CLEVER” and not “COMPLEX”, but unfortunately I’m sad to say people Real Hip-Hop is “complex beyond complex” The measuring stick of “Real” Hip-Hop is Rakim, KRS 1,Rza,Wu,Canibus,Common,Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Black Thought from The Root’s,Nas and the list goes on and on. Now are any of these guy’s as hot as Weezy? Nope.Not by a long shot... But like I said before…just because you got “HEAT” doesn’t make you “DEEP” Now I’m sorry about the serious tone of this blog and I respect everything Weezy has done to revitalize the “Rap” Industry, but 9 out of 10 time's "THE RAP INDUSTRY" iz not "REAL HIP-HOP". And I have yet to hear RZA,NAS or any real hip-hop head use AUTO-TUNE LOL!!! Now if Weezy or anybody from his camp read’s this blog please take no offense I’m defending the art and the craft of our culture and these young kids need a little bit more than what you guy’s are offering at this point.

Now let’s get to the positive’s…Weezy is ON FIRE!!!!!!!!LOL!!!It started off in my opinion with his video FIREMAN and from that point on he began flipping metaphors and redefining himself as the definition of Young Swagger in the game. It’s like most kid’s today Wanna "Party like a Rock Star" and have "Swagger" like Weezy or Kanye. He’s on countless mix tapes and outshines most Rapper’s when he does collaboration’s (but haven’t you noticed he hasn’t done many if any with the brothers I just named above?Hmmm???)Maybe Kanye??? But not hardly any of these other Supreme Lyricist??? And like I said in the beginning Weezy is smart guy he’s gonna stick with thug’s n gangsters he’s not traveling far from his element, plus he’s got a great business savvy and believe it or not after earning his GED, Wayne enrolled at the University of Huston in January 2005 with plans to major in Political science To earn his degree,taking online course’s... In fact An article in Urb magazine in March 2007 asserted that Wayne had been earning high grades at Houston,but by the end of the year Wayne discontinued his education there. O.K. enough about all this technical stuff!!!lol!! Hip-Hop is "suppose" to also be about fun!!! So let’s get into three of his dopest video’s for you Weezy fan’s out there!!! Hmmm I don't know yall, In my personal opinion...it's suspect and questionable.Why? because there is a fine line between man and machine.And Mainly because what you can do with your “own” vocal cord’s is called “skill” and using a machine is in essence “cheating” in “certain circumstances” when someone is either just trying to be “cool” and up to date or simply can‘t sing. Now a lot of Rapper’s have been using Auto-Tune lately… Kanye West even did his entire album in Auto-Tune and Weezy uses it like clockwork. But To my amazement… I heard a Bow Wow track the other day and Nelly was using “Auto-Tune” instead of his "Own" signature style??? Now I’m not a big Nelly or Kanye Fan {by a long shot} but they did originally create there own signature style and flow.Now as I have said in the past Kanye can be dope... but then he goes all funny style on us lol!!! And to be honest??? I think when something becomes a trend it just get’s carried away and played out. Is Auto-Tune Futuristic??? Sure!!! But some of it sounds like electronic gobble-d-gook!!! lol!! Real M.C.’s use the Studio equipment to “assist” with there flow…like let's say “punching in” on a forgotten verse, but all n all it’s all the Real M.C.'s voice and not using the Studio "equipment" like a pair of crutches.Also 9 time’s out of 10 if you hear most “Real M.C.’s” in interviews you notice they have a “regular voice” and a “rapping voice“ augmenting there vocal cords any way's. Auto-Tune is the exact opposite of skill and relying on your God given abilities in my personal opinion. Now Will I ever use Auto-Tune??? Maybe. I guess Because it’s an Industry standard now, but I can do impressions and make my own voice sound Robotic and futuristic.The bottom line is Callous is a “Trend setter” not a “Trend follower” and isn’t that what Real Hip-Hop is all about anyways??? Yoa What’s going on everybody!!! Yeah It’s Ya boy Cali back from a long hiatus to drop some more “Real” Hip-Hop knowledge and incite in this day and age of {so-called}Real Hip-Hip. Now in the past my blogs have been long but I’m going to start to give more brief and definitive blog’s.

O.K. here’s a new topic I haven’t addressed yet... REAL HIP-HOP PRODUCERS!!! YEAH!!! Now some would say that I should put… let’s say Wyclef, Kanye, Puff Daddy, JD or Manny Fresh up in this mix but Ya boy Cali isn’t really down with Kanye’s funny style or Puffy’s ballin and happy go lucky dancing lifestyle. Kanye is a dope producer but his style is funny man..LOL!!!Beside's I covered Kanye on Saturday, March 15, 2008.I respect his struggle for respect but i leave it at that And JD well lol he has mostly only worked with Kids!!! LOL!!! Yeah he got Janet but that doesn’t make you Hip-Hop. And Wyclef screwed up Canibus: the Scientific Champ’s debut album “in my opinion” but he gave us The Fugees, Shakira, Santana and he is an activist and powerful Revolutionary. Now truthfully as a Militant I give him MUCH RESPECT AND SHOW HIM TRUE ADMIRATION TO THE CAUSE… but CALLOUS uses the brain of CANIBUS as a lyrical scientist. Manny is dope but that’s mostly in house. RZA is the best {in my opinion} as far as melodic wise. Dr.Dre is the most successful, and has been at it the longest and has produced the most platinum artists, Tim is just ILL as hell with his own swagger!!! Yeah he roll’s with Justin and Nelly Furtado but him and Missy made some groundbreaking stuff!!! And he has an ill original flow for a producer. The Neptune’s… well they just flat out span the entire spectrum… from Hip-Hop to Rock-n-Roll!!! The Bottom line a Good Hip-Hop producer can make or break an artist career!!! Like Clef Did Bis And a Real “Good” Producer like Dre actually “teaches” his artist to become great producers themselves. Dre is dope man and even tried to stop being Gangster after he left Death Row but The Aftermath Album was his only album that didn’t do “so well” so his wife told him to just keep it real and make that money. He gave us N.W.A. Ice Cube, Snoop, Em, 50,G-Unit and countless others. The Neptune’s gave us the Clips, N.E.R.D. and Pharrell is a real smooth spitter in his own rite. Now as far as THE RZA goes he can Do it all!!! Like Meth said on the first album “any producer any Dj..” Hell he has even expanded into producing movie soundtracks including Kill Bill Volume 1 and Blade Trinity. THE RZA is {in my opinion} actually “better” than Dre as far as esthetic’s and mysticism wise but yall know Dre be making commercial magic!!!lol!!!Well here are some of their videos and as always keep it CALLOUS!!!???

This debate rages on till this very day...and is "still" one of Hip-Hop's most monumental battles ever!!!BDP VS THE JUICE CREW.In Real Hip-Hop this battle is one of the most important ones "ever" because it asks the ultimate question.Where did Hip-Hop actually begin???Man I dreaded doing these last 2 blogs because I had to take sides and make harsh decisions!!!Much like talking about BIG DADDY KANE'S romantic side causing him to fall off, BDP VS THE JUICE CREW are all some what interconnected.MC SHAN & DJ MARLEY MARL insisted that Hip-Hop began in Queens.Henceforth creating the song "THE BRIDGE" But KRS-ONE and BOGGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS insisted that Hip-Hop began in the Bronx henceforth creating the song "SOUTH BRONX" The battle would rage on for years until BDP came up with the song "THE BRIDGE IS OVER" Roxanne Shante would come back with "HAVE A NICE DAY" but come on man THIS IS THA TECHA MAN!!! Well… rather than talk about these 4 gentlemen separately, I will talk about them as one unit. These 4 men are impressive enough alone. But as a unit they represent the modern day “new school” of “quiet” revolutionary. I talk about them as a unit because threw out each of their sorted history they have had each others back and helped the others careers. COMMON comes in first because of his ability to capture the heart’s of “The People” with his smooth revolutionary melodic flow. Also because he is the most clever and has the highest endurance. His on stage performance’s are also out of this world!!! Even now COMMON & TILB KWELI usually perform together. Now COMMON’S road to success and drive for respect would be a long one. COMMON’S first album in 1992 was called “Can I borrow a dollar” Then came 1994 release of “Resurrection” followed by 2000 “Like water for Chocolate” all three have received widespread critical acclaim but like most of his albums had received moderate commercial success. Then came 2002: Electric Circus & Then 2005’s “Be” and then his best of COMMON Album “Thisisme then” then 2007’s Finding Forever .But it wasn’t until 2008‘s: The Believer with the help of KANYE’S production and “ROC STAR POWER” that he finally received the props he rightfully deserved!!! MOS DEF & TILB KWELI would start out together as the group BLACK STAR on RAWKUS RECORDS and like I have said before they had each others back. They would ultimately release solo albums but in my opinion COMMON’S road to success was far more significant as the point man. Now on to the more complex success of Kanye West. Kanye West would spend the majority of his early career as a producer. Even though all he wanted to do was flow!!! He would ultimately be sent hither and tether from record label to record label trying to become a rapper until he arrived at Roc-a-fella Records as a producer. The bottom line It would take the support of “all” of his “friend’s” in the Industry to put out his first album The College Dropout (2004) out. The Roc had so little faith in him that Kanye had to pay for his fist video “Threw the wire” out of his own pocket!!! Even until this day Jay-Z hold’s his stance that he only wanted Kanye for his “beats” even after the Grammy’s and all the critical acclaim. Not that Grammy’s matter to ya boy CALLOUS... but Kanye dose have his own notch.{pre-auto-tune} In my personal opinion Kanye’s affiliation with the Roc{at the time} helped him and his boys gain the much deserved commercial success that each have attained. Yoa what can I say about this BAND!!! I would just call them a “group” but usually a “group” in Hip-Hop doesn’t play there own instruments!!! THE ROOTS a.k.a. The Legendary Roots Crew consist of Owen Biddle, Black Thought, Captian Kirk Douglas, F. Knuckles, Kamal Grey and of course the man with the Fro ?uestlove. These gentlemen are perhaps without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most amazing ensemble of men ever to enter Hip-Hop.(Other than the Wu)In retrospect they always remain fresh and ahead of there time. Originally from Philly in 1992 or 1993 they left to go perform in Europe. Their first album Organix went on to sell about 150,000 copies and then they signed with DGC over there. Then they released “Do you want more” until they came back to the states and released 1996’s “Illadelph Halflife” with the smash hit “What they Do” This is when they cracked the top 40 on the Billboards album charts!!!1999’s THINGS FALL APART was their breakthrough album sales-wise, peaking at #4 on the Billboard album charts. But this was just the beginning of their amazing talent, versatility, vision and depth. They have so many album’s, compilations, and remixes it’s far to many to name here. Also their lead lyricist “BLACK THOUGHT” is in my opinion the “unofficial” brother of the “R” he is that heavy man!!! I mean BLACK THOUGHT is so “dope” that you have to listen to each song 3 to 4 times before you can even get a fragment of the science & knowledge of what he is saying. He can flow fast or slow it really doesn’t matter, you still have to study what he is saying!!! Their fan base is also what every M.C. wishes that they had!!! Their fans range from Jazz enthusiast, to Hard core Hip-Hop head’s to commercial R & B fans. Their range is absolutely Legendary in the world of Hip-Hop and beyond!!! With song’s like “Don’t say nothin” “BLACK THOUGHT” mesmerizes you with the satirical wit of a psychologist!!! I mean “Don’t say nothin‘” can be taken like Don’t say nothing to THE ROOTS or you m.c.’s out there aint saying nothing’!!! That’s how deep BLACK THOUGHT is!!! This “one song” and “video” is so futuristic and multi-layered that people often think it’s “commercial” and don’t realize they are actually being educated!!! Now I could go on about their grammy for the song “You Got Me" a duet with R& B(Hip-Hop) singer Erykah Badu and all of their other accolades, but this is a Blog not a history lesson. And like I said before they have released so much material that It would take far to long for me to write and I would begin to sound redundant. Let me put it to you this way, they are one of the hardest working bands in Hip-Hop or R&B!!! and just seeing ?uestlove on drum’s with that trademark Afro is dope enough 4 me!!! NOW In our ”deepest” & “darkest” hour only “one man” has stepped up to the plate. NAS. While others scurried in the shadows like “rats” against the “Hit maker” Jay-Z, NAS took it strait to the Jigga man!!! And not only did he defeat him, but he made him retire for a short period.(In my personal opinion) Some will argue that Jigga went on to bigger & better things like becoming the president of Def Jam,But if that was the "truth" why did he step down and return to rapping??? But check it we all know the truth. Because in most (not all)Hip-hop circles Jigga got flat out embarrassed!!!And the result for most ”REAL” Hip-Hoppers it was a masterstroke!!! Man to put it plain We cheered as Jigga got dismantled, defused and destroyed!!! With song’s like “ONE MIC”, “MADE YOU LOOK” ,and my personal all time favorite “ETHER” NAS will go down in history as one of the best “counter” battle rappers ever to pick up a mic!!! I mean Jigga would say on so many occasions I got 6 model chicks 6 bottles of criss and 6 bla bla bla whatever. NAS dropped him cold with his responce “ONE MIC”!!! Then "MADE YOU LOOK” & the ultimate crescendo “ETHER”!!! Unfortunately the road to NAS’S success has not been without controversy. In my personal opinion he has only mis-stepped once or twice.I mean I loved “IF I RULED THE WORLD” and later "REWIND" but The first mis-step he ever made was with the song and video ”HATE ME NOW” To most it is said to be a classic Anti-Jealousy hit for the term “PLAYER HATER” But ya boy CALLOUS just saw Puff Daddy and *click* I have never been a fan of “the jewelry” or “Shiny suites”!!! I’m a Hip-Hop purest So that was kind of a mis-step. Also morphing himself into Pac did not set well with me either.. And carrying the cross on his back as if he were “JESUS”??? I could write a whole nother blog on this subject. But regardless of these minor mis-steps NAS’s first album ILLMATIC 1994 is considered to be one of Hip-Hop histories greatest golden classics. Getting the highest rank in the Source.. 5 mic’s!!! Plus The Braveheart also reps Queensbridge without batting a lash. This is admirable in my eyes because I fell the same way about my hometown Detroit. Nasir dose mean “helper” or “protector” so I guess the title “fits” about “protecting” his city. I mean even though he dropped out in the 8th grade, NAS is said to be "one" of the most intelligent self educated men on the planet with knowledge of self. Unfortunately in retrospect NAS does spew negative energy like “GOT YOURSELF A GUN” promoting brother’s to carry “HEAT” against each other instead of putting the gun’s down. Also “POSION” is another dope classic but then he rep’s “the coke snifters”!!!on countless times. This is why he is not a contender for “The R’s title as godfather of Hip-Hop“ Plus he’s too young. But this blog is not about my personal opinion it’s about the facts, and with so very “few” revolutionary conscience rappers around now a days what dose a few commercial mis-steps matter??? Hip-Hop is suppose to be about the love and not the money, but you need money to promote and create. He did however admit to the “sway of materialism” in a song he did with one of the Marly brothers, so he has tried to atone for this worldly ways. He knows what he did was wrong. But hey in his defense only one man to ever walk the planet earth was without sin and they crucified him!!! In closing most people are in an uproar now about NAS’S new album NIGGER. Not CALLOUS If he dose it rite. Because more and more of “my people” act like niggers instead of “The King’s & Queens” that they really are!!! Now as “REAL” as some “HIP-HOP MOVIES” may seem, not all of them convey “REAL HIP-HOP”. The movie’s that started it all for me was of course KRUSH GROVE, which debuted LL‘s raw energy, WILD STYLE, and BREAKIN!!! Now There are so many other movies to name so let’s get started with one of the best in DO THE RITE THING, A Spike Lee Joint!!! This movie nearly single handedly helped launch the Legendary Revolutionary Golden Era in conjunction with PUBLIC ENEMIES video FIGHT THE POWER!!!(check out FIGHT THE POWER in PUBLIC ENEMY 101:FIGHT THE POWER) Then there’s of course NEW JACK CITY, BOY’S IN THE HOOD, & MENACE TO SOCIETY, All of which beaconed in the street knowledge era. And then of course there’s SCARFACE. Now let’s just stop here for a moment. SCARFACE didn’t start out as a HIP-HOP joint but is now a Cult Classic in “ALL” Hip-Hop circles!!! It doesn’t matter if your EAST-COAST, WEST COAST,THE DIRTY SOUTH or whatever!!! Now nearly every rapper no matter who they are has a piece of SCARFACE memorabilia in their crib…period. Then there’s the comedies like FRIDAY 1,2 & 3,TALES FROM THE HOOD,CB4 and HALFBAKED!!! Then there are more current romantic HIP-HOP flicks like LOVE & BASKETBALL,BROWN SUGAR and HONEY all dope. Then there is more serious flicks like BELLY staring DMX , NAS, & METHOD MAN. Also CLOCKERS,COLORS,WAIST DEEP COVER,BELLY and then there is 8 MILE Ah yes 8 MILE: Passion. Drive. Perseverance. Unfortunately I’m not a “Big” Emenim fan because he made an “underground” racist song called “OH SO MANY STYLES” when he first started out. But he is said to be “THE ABSOLUTE BEST FREESTYLE BATTLE RAPPER IN THE WORLD!” Being from Detroit myself I didn’t like the way they treated me either, that’s why I stay in Miami now. Plus the fact MIAMI is a virtual paradise. Yea man I didn’t like the way they treated me and IM BLACK!!! So I could imagine what he went threw. By “COLLECTING” VINYL or using SERATO and making “THE MUSIC” or in REAL HIP-HOP terms “THE BEATS”. When HIP-HOP first started, DJ’s like KOOL HERC would put on “Instrumentals” and rock block parties and that’s how it all began. So first let’s talk about the beautiful ART of VINYL COLLECTING. Some say this “MAGNIFICENT” art form is “DEAD” but I disagree. Even with “NEW” Technology such as SERATO, Some DJ’s still prefer cutting real “VINYL” because of the groves and the feel in the records. But some say SERATO is easier than crate caring & crate digging. Most "REAL DJ’s" have an unprecedented “STOCK PILE” and CRATES upon CRATES upon CRATES of RECORDS!!! This is said to be what defines the “REAL DJ’s” from the “modern day” SERATO Kids.But nowadays even more & more DJ's are turning to SERATO!!! Some say it's a 70-30 split in favor of SERATO.But in my opinion the only way “REAL HIP-HOP” is going to make a comeback is with sampling, scratching and raiding these “STOCK PILES” of mirth & gold!!! When RAKIM first came out it was ERIC B and RAKIM!!! Not the other way around!!! That is how important the DJ was!!! And still is!!! The absence of cutting, sampling, mixing and scratching shows!!! These Kid’s now a days are just living on Technology and not skills!!! STOCK PILING is HISTORY and HISTORY cannot be replaced!!! And as much as these young Kids have to offer with Technology EXPERIENCE cannot be replaced!!! Listen HISTORICAL STOCK PILING takes “years” upon “years” to attain and as far as “Skills” go, well there is no substitute for perfecting your craft. And VINYL RECORD COLLECTING perfects a “DJ’S EAR” for music and timing!!! From KOOL HERC to DJ Q-BERT a DJ is only as good as their “Arsenal” So big up to the DJ’s Who still “STOCKPILE”!!!But SERATO is like taking over man.It's a complex argument. Now as far as Producers goes DR. DRE is said to be one of the best “EVER” but there is also, TIMBALAND,THE NEPTUNES,WYCLEFF,DJ PERMIRE(Who some say is the best) and of course my “PERSONAL ALL TIME FAVORITE” THE RZA!!! Now THE RZA is so “ILL” that he has even “TRANSENDED” from just “producing” Albums to doing movie soundtracks!!! THE RZA in my opinion can do it all.. play music, sample, mix, DJ, MC you name it The RZA iz one of the best from a REAL HIP-HOP purest perspective. BUT...the way it is NOW DRE has the most PLATINUM ALBUMS and also “Teach's” people “how” to produce and that is what makes him one of the best in this particular category. It’s like everyone who comes under his wing becomes a “GRADE A” Producer from Snoop, to Warren G to Eminem and the list goes on & on. Big up to the producers BUT DJ’s come first because they were the first producers!!! It Aint No Joke is definetly what started it all for a lot of MCs, even me. Almost every MC out there has biten at least one line from that joint because it was so innovative. Nearly, 25 years later, and that song still is as relevant as the day it was made. That joint is solidly in my 10 songs of all time....NO DOUBT! Everyone out there should go back and listen to "It Aint No Joke" and another one of Rakim's flamethrowers called "Follow the Leader"...my personal favorite. I think he just blacked out on "Follow the Leader" 'cause he just went absolutely bananas! On that one he has no real hook, just line after line after line of pure fire! I recieved a comment from my man Caesar Johnicvs a.k.a.3ed hoax saying that Boogie Down Productions "My Philosophy" was his personal favorite Greatest Hip-Hop video of all time! I concure that it was one of the greatest by far! Directed by the Great Fab 5 Freddy, Boggie Down Productions "My Philosophy" is bar none one of the Greatest Hip-Hop video's ever produced. KRS ONE is the very "HEART" of Hip-Hop and has been said to be "The Greatest onstage performer of all time!", "The Techa", and "Grand Freestyler" This video goes beyond what MTV or BET was playing at the time. Dropping knowledge back and forth left & right. The reason why I chose Wu-Tang-Triumph as my top video is because of the sheer verity and technological know-how of the entire ensemble of the Wu. All the Wu's various style's combined with cutting edge computer animation (at the time) is the reason Wu-Tang "Triumph" is considered to be my greatest Hip-Hop group's of all time. What is REAL HIP-HOP? We all know that the Hip-Hop culture is a state of mind.. including, rapping, scratching, break-dancing, graffiti, music, and fashion. The “culture” of Hip-Hop began in the late 70’s & early 80’s in New York City, evolving from street block parties where DJs would put on instrumentals and rappers would rap over them, challenging each other to see who was the best by either rocking the party, story telling, or battle rapping. Some say KOOL HERC,(Who most say is the rightful GODFATHER of Hip-Hop), GRANDMASTER FLASH and AFRIKA BAMBAATAA started it all, as “THE HOLY TRINITY” of Hip-Hop. Some say BDP vs. THE JUICE CREW started it all with Brooklyn vs. the South Bronx. But… it was in fact all of them INCLUDING other’s such as KOOL KEITH, THE SUGAR HILL GANG, KURTIS BLOW, RUN-DMC, WHODINI, U.T.F.O., L.L.COOL.J, KOOL MOE .D AND THE TRECHEROUS 3, and yes even THE FAT BOY’S who all subsequently started it all together, coming from this “generalized area” as they rapped and scratched about parting, having fun and what was happening on the streets of their neighborhoods and their lives.

COOL .J and perhaps 2 of the GREATEST scientific and battle M.C.‘s on the planet...CANIBUS and THE RZA. Hear in lies the RUB, At this level in the game of REAL HIP-HOP (not mainstream rap) unless you EVOLVE to understand complex scientist like the CANIBUS-MAN and THE ABBOT, it is suggested that you read no further, continue to listen to the radio and enjoy your MINDLESS COMMERCIAL RAP MUSIC ONLY! Because.. if not for the aforementioned Legendary Revolutionary “GOLDEN ERA” in Hip-Hop…none of this would hold precedence or substance because the “bar” and “tier” would not have been set!!! Think about it… if not for the “SERIOUSNESS” of our civil rights forefathers like MALCOLM X or HEWEY P. NEWTON, would we even have the freedom to speak on such idiotic nonsense and buffoonery? The Black Man is far more than a “Drug dealer” a “Pimp or Player” a “Thug” a “Coon” or a “Dancing Jiggabo”!!! That is why REAL HIP-HOP is not about that. Today, there are even more and more hard working Black People who go to work every day to provide for their families and are respectable upwardly mobile urban entrepreneurs that are sick and tired of the nonsense and blame REAL HIP-HOP! As an entertainer you put yourself in the position and in the spot light to make a difference! Do you have to be perfect? No. But at least show “some” respect for yourself and your culture!!! Art is art but come on!!! Contrary to what some may lead you to believe, fashion does not automatically make you hip-hop! Just like foolishly going to PRISON, dealing CRACK, KILLING your own kind and PIMPING women does NOT make you Hip-Hop! Because even though you can dress a monkey up... that doesn't make that monkey a man. Just like any boy can lay down and make a baby. But it take’s a MAN to be a FATHER!!!
